Moray Anchor Projects

Company
teamwork

Moray Anchor Projects was formed in 1993 and has undergone several changes since its inception, including its change of name in 2003 from Moray Association for Mental Health Co Ltd. It remains an independent voluntary organisation and registered charity, and acts as an umbrella company to Step Forward and Horizons. These services all share the common goal, which is to support people in Moray who are experiencing or recovering from mental health problems or distress.

We are primarily funded by The Moray Council, the European Social Fund and Grampian Primary Care NHS Trust with additional funding from The Robertson Trust and Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland.

The Company is governed by a voluntary board of directors, assisted by a voluntary Management Advisory Committee and managed by the Company Manager. Most business and communication takes place through the Management Advisory Committee.

As an organisation we value the contribution and involvement of our service users in the identification of needs, the delivery of services and the management of the organisation. Membership, and therefore voting rights, of the organisation is open to anyone who has a clear link to mental health. Many of the members have personal experience of mental illness, either themselves or as family members or friends of someone with an illness.

The Company invites services users and any persons with an interest in mental health to become a member of the Company. The Company members are involved in any constitutional changes usually proposed at the Annual General Meeting, or in extreme circumstances an Extraordinary General Meeting may be called.
